Steps to Change a User Role via WordPress admin dashboard

Step 1: Log in to the WordPress Administrator Dashboard.

Step 2: Click on Users.

Step 3: Select the user that you wish to edit. Click on the user name, or hover over the name and click on Edit.

Step 4: Scroll down to where it says Role, then click on the drop-down arrow to see the available roles.

Step 5: Select the new role for your user. Then scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on Update User.

Step 6: The role option labeled “No role for this site” is used for Multisite WordPress installations. As it says, this role is used when the user is not part of a particular WordPress site in the Multisite (network) installation.
