Step 1:Open Outlook 2016 for Mac.
Step 2: Select Tools > Accounts.
Step 3: Click the plus (+) sign > New Account.
Step 4: Check Manual setup or additional server types and click Next.
Step 5: Select IMAP and click Next
Note: You cannot edit an existing email account to switch its account type from POP3 to IMAP or vice versa. To change the account type, you must add a new account of the desired type (POP3 or IMAP).

Account Type: Select IMAP
Incoming: imap-mail.outlook. com
Outgoing: smtp-mail.outlook.com
Select IMAP after the Incoming mail server name.
User Name: Email account name
Password:Email account password

Step 6: Click More Settings.
Step 7: Select Outgoing Server and check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
Step 8: Select Outgoing Server
Step 9: Select Advanced.

Enter the below details
For IMAP use 993 – SSL enabled
Outgoing SMTP port – 465 SSL enabled
For Root folder path enter INBOX with uppercase letters.

Step 10: Click “Next” and then click “Finish” to complete the email account setup.
